The nutritional therapy profession has been evolving over the last twenty years. The last 10 years has seen the emergence of honours degrees and foundation degrees in nutritional therapy. For academic advancement towards a Masters degree and for the purposes of continuing professional development CNE has since January 2006 offered postgraduate Masters modules in nutritional therapy that directly links to a Middlesex Universtiy named Masters Award in Nutrition. The modules below are all currently BANT approved for CPD. The profession needs highly qualified practitioners to support the increasing health problems confronting the nation. Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus are reaching ‘epidemic’ proportions, it is anticipated that depression will be the most costly illness worldwide by 2020. More than one in three people will be diagnosed with cancer at sometime in their life and one in four will die from cancer. Allergies and autoimmune diseases are rising, hormone disruption and reduced fertility appear commonplace and learning and behaviour problems seem to becoming part of an accepted ‘norm’. You can become part of a fast moving profession making good use of your first science degree. You can join the postgraduate programme if you hold a BANT approved diploma and have been in practice for two or more years subject to meeting prerequisites for specific modules. You can join the programme if you already have a degree in nutritional therapy and are looking to enhance your professional practice and academic career.
