Our plumbing course is aimed at anyone who wants to improve their knowledge of plumbing and household installations, whether you are a DIY enthusiast or someone looking to gain a greater understanding so that you can confidently employ a plumber, this course is for you. Our plumbing course offers you a highly practical course, using mock-ups of bathrooms, kitchens and heating systems - where you will be encouraged to practice your techniques, plus the essential theory necessary to safely tackle a variety of house hold plumbing tasks. The content of the course includes; basic domestic water system (theory) cold water supply hot water - indirect cylinder central heating - gravity feed vented system stopping the flow draining the systems earth bonding joining pipe copper - capillary fittings, Yorkshire fitting, compression fittings - practical plastic - quick fit, speedfit, push-fit - practical plastic waste - solvent weld or push-fit - practical taps, replacing taps (various types) - practical curing drips, new washers, re-seat, disassemble - practical mixer taps - theory, repair of swan neck taps - theory and practical toilets, syphonic flush, change or repair syphonic unit - theory or practical ball valves, adjust water level - practical connection to waste change of toilet sinks and baths, fitting of new, replacement waste pipes and traps - theory or practical hot water cylinders explanation of the different types (indirect/direct) Drain off valves - practical immersion heaters (theory) combi cylinders (hot or cold header) central heating explanation of combi and system boilers - theory draining and filling systems - theory or practical bleeding radiators, changing valves, changing radiators - practical cleaners and inhibitors.
